MARSIS BIOGRAPHY

In their own words, Marsis is the quixotic outbreak of a bunch of young men coming from the Black Sea and by whom we travel through the Black Sea: an outbreak to nuclear power plants, to wars, to the bullets those stuck in our hearts or those touch slightly...They are outcrying, shouting and bawling to drown the sounds of them.

Marsis is a vivacious, resistant orchestic of a bunch of young men who do want to forget, do not want to forget, do hope for more: they are dancing with their kemanchas, guitars, drums and bagpipes, in fury and faith. They are bawling to make themselves heard, and whirring in spite of those who are silent.

While the stars those show them their way in their dark nights are falling one by one, while the darkness of the radoiactive gray clouds is connecting the day to night, the death to life; they intuitively know that the night will turn to the day one day. Thus, they invite us to their homeland, their flatland, smelling soil right after the rain; to enjoy the gigantic fire they burn and smile. That's why, this album smells soil. That's why, this album includes the shades of green.

Perhaps, their passion is to complete the missing components of a mosaic. In a struggle to express the intimate, the outspoken, and the sharpwitted characteristics of the society of Black Sea as well as their state of mind, their dreads and the love of the region with a broad range of genres from rock to folk music; they are climbing on a giant tree with roots in the outskirts of the gorgeous MarsisMountain of Black Sea, and head of which is in the bright sky, boughes reaching to diverse cultures all around the world. A piece from here or there: until this mosaic has its perfect inner harmony. That’s why these songs smell flowers. That’s why these songs are shining.

That’s why this album speaks of the universality of music from the mouth of the  Black Sea!

That’s why this album contains a high rate of radiation!

In the album of MARSIS released by Kalan Muzik; besides four songs containing radiation, there are also melodies coming from the different languages of various areas effected by the high radiation in Black Sea.
